Lys is a frontier Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) lab developing the only viable path to consumer BCI. In a world where communication increasingly means communication with AI, we have found ways to take bandwidth and efficiency to the next level.

We've hired a world-class team including an IPhO gold medallist, a leading specialist in neuroimaging, and an Fulbright scholar PhD in ML from CMU. Our latest hire started competitive programming in the third grade.

Prior to building Lys, Nicole pursued BCI research in academia under the supervision of Bettina Sorger, Thomas co-founded an AI startup now worth over a billion dollars, and Anthony was pursuing a PhD in computational astrophysics. We are a tight-knit team and have known each other for about a decade.

Lys is named after the land of Lys in Arthur C. Clarke's novel, Against the Fall of Night.
